Today I'm going to show you how to install the Spec-D Projector headlights on this 1999 F250. All right, we've got our lights out of the box. You can see here they come with everything that we need to get them installed. Of course your right and left side lights and also your connectors to plug them in.
Would it be detecting a controller error on the motherboard? The driver detected a controller error on Device Ide IdePort9. Microsoft ahci driver windows 7 64 bit.
Let's get these into the truck. All right, so we've got our lights setup ready to go on the truck, but first we've got to get the old ones out and what we want to do then is take the, there's some slider clips right in the back here. If you look in here you'll be able to see them.
You just need to pull them straight up and out and that'll release the top part of the light. Then there's two screws down here on the bottom, we need to take those out. Now once we have our turn signal and parking light section out, just unhook the bulbs from the back here. Then we just set this off to the side. And then we take our headlight and just remove our bulb from our headlight.
Actually if it just comes unclipped, that's fine because we're not going to reuse that bulb anyway. All right so what we're going to do then is the wires for our LEDs and for our Halos, we're going to hook them together and we're going to hook those black to black and the white to the white. And then what these are going to do then is these are going to hook into our parking light bulb.
I bought the projector/halo fog lights off ebay as both mine were cracked. Of coarse one was broke in shipping so month-half later for replacement I am out in the garage installing them. They were advertised as plug and play but of coarse there are two wires not part of the OEM harness. Looks like these are for the halo outer ring (led I think).
This video offers a walk-through for installing a set of Spyder CCFL Halo or LED Halo projector headlights in 2006-08 Dodge Ram 1500 models. This video walks you through the wiring process for.
What do I connect these too??? I think people with halo headlights were splicing into the turn signal or similar. Do the same??? Of coarse no instructions included. Just curious, why are these seperate power supply.
I assume different V or W??? Bob, thats the version ive been looking at. You say they light the road much beter? Do they have seperat hi/lo aim? You dont by any chance have better pics of the back and or installed etc do you?Yes, they do light up the road much better including the high beams.
The Hi/Lo beams are seperate bulbs and they came pre-adjusted for the stock truck and work great. There are adjustments on the back, but they would be a pain to get at to adjust them. Install is a piece of cake, the headlights plug right into the stock wiring harness, then you hook up the LED's as I explained above. I actually went ahead after talking to some people and just spliced the halo/ring light wiring right back into the wires that power the main bulb of the fog light. The down side is the ring light only comes on when the main fog light bulb is on as others mentioned but it is still clearly visible and does look cool. The LED ring light will not draw more than it needs so there is no harm in hooking it directly to the main bulb power. I guess they just dont do it to give you the option to run them elsewhere to have only the ring light on.
For those that are discussing the halo headlights, adding the halo fog lights would really complete the package. I can say that I think the stock fog lights were brighter than these by far but they do throw a bit more light evenely and further out to the sides. Very high quality housing compared to stock and also a glass cover rathe rthan plastic which I am confident melted on mine as I always run the fog lights as night. Then they would be on whenever the parking/running lights are on.
